Thanks. That's a 38" Pocket Pistols Hammerhead. Basically a stretched out Hosoi re-issue, and have even seen it listed on some sites as a 38" Hosoi, but it does not have the Hosoi graphics. This one has the sharks swimming around a severed hand holding a pistol.
It is a really nice ride. I have it set up with Sixtracks and NoSkoolz 65mm 78a. Fast, and with the looooong wheelbase, very stable. Has a nice swing weight too, and you can crank it around alot better than you would think. It was my main flood control board for awhile, but found myself having some difficulty getting into some of the tighter corners on my regular ditches, so I have been using the Big Red X Ditch Digger more often. While the Ditch Digger is only two inches shorter in length, the wheelbase is substantially shorter.

Kool, Thanks for the info.
I just shot Chris at Abec11 / Big Red X an email.
I want to try a longer deck... especially before I hit ABQ this summer.
Could you post a photo of the bottom of the Hasoi PP Hammerhead?

Hmmm, I'm not finding anything online of my 38" hammerhead, so it might no longer be made. I did find a few actual 38" Hosoi's, with his classic graphics. I'll shoot a pic of mine and post it up here tomorrow.
If you are looking for something for ABQ you might take a look at the PPS Ditch Killer 44", which was supposedly designed with ABQ in mind.

I rode a 44" comet proflex in the bear with some randal 150's and
trimmed avalons. Felt sturdy and smooth. I liked indian
school better. You can ride just about any setup down indian school.

Here's that PPS 38". If you can't find one, if the Hosoi 38" has the same wheelbase it should make for a pretty good large ditch board. I forgot I have Indys on this one with 65mm 78a NoSkoolz. I have an 1/8th inch soft riser and a 3/8th inch hard riser. If you look close in the foto you can see that I've got some rubbage, but I can't really call it wheelbite as it doesn't give me that hard stoppage. I do run the trucks fairly loose though. The 60mm's should alleviate that.

Here's one of the entire quiver, well except for my 'short' boards, the
BDS Shogo and my last 80's ditch board, a home cut fishy affair.

Great collection!!!
I plan on buying a longer deck soon although I think the PPS is too wide for me... isn't it 10 or 10.5" wide?
I have been looking into the Big Red X / Ditch Digger. there is one on epay for $30.
I also have that Z-Flex Jay Adams deck - that was my "whoa too short for me deck". I am 6' 4.
But it looks cool on my wall. I'd like to come over and test out a few of those.

Maybe I'll meet ya half way, would really dig making ABQ some day.
The two yellow boards are my daughters', a little Madrid complete and the Jay Adams. The youngest one (closing in on 7) uses the Jay Adams mainly as a butt board, although she's standing on it more as her skills increase.
