Classic ditches/banks...are they still around?
Reply Quote
Hey fellas, I'm a 22-year-old who's been skating since the mid-90s, and has lived in Orange County. Obviously I'm from the street era, but my favorite *** to skate by far is 'natural' tranny. Over the years, I've gotten to skate a good amount of the classic spots from several eras, but alot of the older ones I keep hearing about no one really knows about anymore. Is the Flower St. ditch still skateable? Euclid V? Other spots that I know are gone, like the infamous Lloyd's banks in Santa Ana, but I was wondering if any of you had pictures. Also, there's alot of spots that I still skate now, and I wonder about their history...did you guys skate them back in the day? Ones that come to mind are the sick banks at the santa Ana Unifified School District building, the banks in the bank of rosary High in Fullerton, this hidden steep little ditch in Orange that's had a parking block fixed there for aat least ten years...all sorts of ***. Well dudes, this has got a little long, but I'm stoked I've found this place. Feel free to respond with what you've got.

Oh yeah, about 5 years ago, did anyone (besides me) mess around on the Big O pools just before they covered em for good when they put in the storage units?? They didn't get fully uncovered, but for a real short time you could skate parts a little...and for the first time in like 15 years...always wonder if anybody else knew.

Hey Social,

Flower Street is long gone, but there are plenty of photo's of it on the foto's page.

Euclid V is still a bust & had water in it the last time I passed by.

The Santa Ana banks have been there a long time (no photos).

& when Big O closed we jumped the fence once & I rode the 3/4 pipe.

feel free to send in some photos of the banks... I will get them up on the Orange Kounty photo link.

Peace

flower street always sucked too steep and a bust euclid v too steep and a bust and useless with out parking blocks never heard of those banks but heres a few others ollie banks which is off alondra in la mirada pepsi banks both have fences up now so pretty useless theres another bank around the corner from pepsi banks never had a name for that spot but its still chill never get kicked out its by the pepsi factory not sure the name of the street just go down caballero and turn left at the 3 way stop sign look to the left. The roof of the Buena PArk mall still has blue wall rides you have to park by 24hour fitness and walk up the stairs toward where the theaters use to be walk past the chained area another wall ride spot is the front of BUena park high school at the pac building another one is on knott and orangethorpe next to the thanksgiving church is a credit union this *** is a bust and they have some anti skate *** up. A good ollie bump to ollie over a wall is on orangethorpe and walker next to granada liquor another steep wallride bank use to be called hamburger hamlet now its a hollywood video is on adams and harbor in costa mesa its a brick bank still skatable its in the video days video I think or some old foundation video. Another spot close to swamplands is off valley view and the 5 between the 5 and artesia coming from the 5 to the right is a building with perfect concaved walls little quarter pipes but for like the past 20 years they've had big barrel planters in front of them 2 people can push these away and you can skate for maybe 20 minutes before a rent a pig shows up theres more quarter pipes inside the complex but really only the ones on valleyview are good to skate. The fucking salk ditch is still behind magnolia high in anaheim that ditch was the *** but its buried under dirt. Not far from the euclid v I don't know if its still there was a spine bank at a taco shop if you go thru the neighborhood that has the lake i think it takes you to imperial and if you go left I think and look to the right theres a taco stand with banks behind it might be gone by now that was 15 years ago.
