Carey Thomas Born -1962 ve been lurking the last few days and I am beside myself that these web sites- ie.. Gravity , SF longboard and this one exist. I cant get enough of the picture posts of all the great skate ditches -past and present. I am a skater originaly from the North OC area and my era was the classic 1974-to mid 80's. I am now banished to the I.E. married with Kids. But I have enjoyed taking my son to local skate parks and have encouraged him to skate with style! I now know that once a skater always a skater! I have always scoped ditches, resoivers, banks etc...  and have threatened my son that one day to go on a ditch hunt. That day has come. I have called him told him to dust off my 36" Hobie replica cruiser( my wife bought for me for our 10 yr aniversery) and get ready. I have some spots ( especialy around golf courses since I have worked at them for years.) I wil post pictures if we hit some good tranny. Some of the places I skated back in the 70's  were The Brea spillway (yes the legendary!) even dug trails thru the dirt just  get our jones in. The Rat Hole (Yorba Linda), The vacume (Anaheim Hills) yes thats how we spelled it when we christianed it with the spray paint, The Euclid V, The Funnel, Brea Pipe, the Tub, Avocado Bowl, The Exxon V (behind the old Exxon on Kellogg) I used to work there. There is more but when you get my age  the memory is a little slow, plus the numerous concussions amd other head injuries do not help. any ways keep up the good fight and remember like it says on Jay adams body somewhere. 100% skateboarder for Life!    Report
