The town that is about 25 min from me is trying to get a skatepark. The people in charge of this got us a park built in the town I live in so there could be a good chance we get this one built. Please read and sign the letter below and send it in if you would like to help. This is only the first step of many to get this park built but we need your help. The City of Bethlehem, PA and Homebase Skateshop have been collaborating on getting a skatepark built in conjunction
with the Bethlehem Greenway Project. With all the new developments in and around the Bethlehem Steel area its
only fitting that the city include a skatepark to provide for the growing number of kids, teens and adults participating
action sports such as skateboarding and bmx biking. This is not a petition to convince the city that they need to build
a skatepark; they're as eager to build the park as we are to ride it. Charlie Brown and Jane Persa from the Parks and
Rec Department both agree that the skatepark should be made of cement, built under the supervision of
experienced skatepark builders and skaters, large enough to safely accomodate both skateboarders and bmx riders,
be a ride-at-your-own-risk facility and most importantly they understand that WE NEED A SKATEPARK.
Here's how you can help. The City needs to show the state and other grant programs that the community is behind
this plan. We need you, your family, your friends, businesses, schools, churches, police officers and anyone else you
can think of to print out this letter . . . sign it . . . address it . . . and sent it back to The City of Bethlehem or drop it off
at Homebase Skateshop. You do not have to be a resident of The City of Bethlehem or over 18 years old in order to
turn in one of these letters but PLEASE use a legit name and address

To Whom It May Concern:
I, _____________________________, fully support The City of Bethlehem and Homebase Skateshop's request for
funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and
Conservation, toward the development of a municipal skatepark as a part of the Bethlehem Greenway Project.
A skatepark is a vital community project that will fill a void in the City's recreation programs and benefit a large
number of young people ranging from age 10-35 who enjoy participating in various action sports such as
skateboarding and BMX bike riding, but up to this point have no place to safely practice thier sport of choice.
Action sports are popular "at-your-own-risk" activities and providing adequate resources for practice of these sports
ensures a safe and secure enviroment for participants. The young people of the community deserve such resources.
Therefore, I am pleased to support the City of Bethlehem's grant request as it will undoubtedly improve the quality of
life of the both action sports participants and the surrounding community.
